The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Jakarta (HKETO Jakarta) today (October 14) launched the “Marvels in Hong Kong: 25 Years and Beyond” roving exhibition in Manila, the Philippines, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
Co-organised by HKETO Jakarta with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Office and the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the exhibition aims to underscore the remarkable achievements of the HKSAR over the past 25 years, as well as to highlight Hong Kong’s unlimited opportunities under the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and its appeal in such areas as tourism and culture. Following the lifting of compulsory quarantine requirement for overseas visitors to Hong Kong, HKETO Jakarta aims to showcase different facets of Hong Kong’s latest developments, thereby attracting business and leisure travellers from the Philippines to visit the city.

In his online address, the Commissioner for the Development of the GBA, Mr Tommy Yuen, pointed out that the GBA is the most open and economically vibrant region of China, with enormous growth potential and opportunities. The HKSAR Government has been working closely with Mainland and Macao counterparts to develop and implement policy innovation and breakthrough to facilitate the smooth flow of people, goods, capital and information within the GBA. Hong Kong will continue to make best use of the advantages of “one country, two systems”, its highly market-oriented business environment underpinned by the rule of law, and its world-class professional services as well as infrastructure connectivity to help our friends from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations participate in and benefit from the GBA development.
