YShop, the retail arm of the Yuchengco Museum, proudly presents its latest curated showcase featuring an exceptional lineup of local creatives and exclusive merchandise. Far more than a gift shop, YShop serves as a vital retail space and promotional platform dedicated to supporting the creative industries and sustaining the livelihoods of contemporary artists. By connecting museum-goers directly with the stories and products of local makers, YShop ensures that every purchase contributes meaningfully to the surrounding creative ecosystem.

Throughout June, the shop will highlight the poignant photography of Bernie Bacosa, a specialized collection honoring the legendary painter Jaime de Guzman, functional home accessories featuring the marine photography of Sandra Gomez, and an exclusive showcase by design label Angkan World.

Bernie Bacosa Captures Lived Realities in Nakita sa Makati Headlining the museum’s retail showcases is Nakita sa Makati (Seen at the Ebb), a moving photobook and exhibition by photographer Bernie Bacosa. On view from May to June 2026 at the YShop and running through June 2026 at the RCBC Plaza Galleria, the collection explores the “ebb” as a human condition. Rather than viewing it as a geographic location, Bacosa frames the ebb as a moment when resources are strained and what is essential quietly comes into view, beautifully capturing the resilience, humor, and grace of ordinary people in overlooked urban spaces.

Raised in Palawan, Bacosa transitioned from a distinguished career in corporate planning and project development to full-time photography in 2009. He refined his practice through workshops with Magnum Photos and previously published the acclaimed photobook Ating Ultimo Adios. His latest work continues a deep, intimate engagement with the unseen, everyday flows of Metro Manila life. Honoring a Master: The Jaime de Guzman Collection

Celebrating the enduring legacy of the painter, YShop is hosting an exclusive selection of merchandise centered around the artistry of Jaime de Guzman. Visitors can purchase Saul Hofileña, Jr.’s compelling book, The Enigma of Jaime de Guzman: Collected Works of the Painter of the Mystic Mountain, which pairs insightful commentary with photographs of the exhibition’s displayed works.

To bring a piece of this artistic heritage into the home, the collection also includes handcrafted papier-mache dogs inspired by de Guzman’s own pet, Lee. These unique objects are available in a classic black version or a beige, paint-it-yourself version for customization. Additionally, the shop features a series of anting-anting tote bags available in six distinct designs, allowing patrons to carry a functional, stylized symbol of protection wherever they go.

Gifts for Conservation by Sandra Gomez

YShop further highlights the intersection of daily functional design and environmental advocacy through the work of photographer Sandra Gomez. The shop features a vibrant lifestyle line consisting of custom notepads, placemats, coasters, and cushion covers adorned with Gomez’s underwater photography captured across the Pacific, Oceania, and Southeast Asian seas.

Embodying YShop’s strict commitment to purposeful commerce, a percentage of all retail proceeds from this line goes directly toward the vital marine conservation efforts of the Tubbataha Reef Natural Park.

Contemporary Heritage with Angkan World

Rounding out the retail experience is a limited-time feature on Angkan World by Carol de Leon, running from June 15 to June 30, 2026. This showcase introduces a contemporary, heritage-infused aesthetic to the museum shop, serving as a vital commercial springboard for local design communities.

By choosing these one-of-a-kind objects, visitors become active patrons of the local creative economy, directly sustaining the artists who document and enrich Filipino culture.
