Chef Myke “Tatung” Sarthou believes in everyone’s innate ability to cook. The popular celebrity chef and restaurateur lives by a tried and tested belief: anyone can cook any dish if the recipe is simple enough. It is in this spirit that Chef Tatung and NutriAsia have partnered to release SIMPOL The Cookbook, his fourth collection of recipes.
Prior to its publication, NutriAsia has been collaborating with Chef Tatung for more than a year now, churning out exciting and easy-to-cook dishes in his popular livestream show “Eats a Hack” on Chef Tatung’s Simpol Facebook page.
“NutriAsia is a real champion not just of Philippine cuisine but of nation building as well,” shares Chef Tatung, “With them, I have found a partner that shares my philosophy of making good food achievable for everybody in a simple, practical way.”
“We’re incredibly happy for Chef Tatung’s milestone in SIMPOL The Cookbook,” said James Lim, Head of Corporate Marketing and Communications, “The long-time partnership between NutriAsia and Chef Tatung is a testament to our shared commitment to helping all kinds of cooks, whether they are newbies or experts, in creating masarap, masaya meals that are easy and affordable.”
It is this partnership that led to the publication of SIMPOL The Cookbook. The cookbook is packed with fuss-free recipes of timeless Filipino favorites. Coupled with stunning food photography and additional QR codes that lead to videos of Chef Tatung demonstrating the cooking techniques of each recipe, it is a kitchen essential that is guaranteed to inspire, making it a perfect companion for any cook looking for a guide to delicious meals that can be on the table in no time at all.
“I really want to be known more as an author, a teacher, and an advocate. Being a chef is just a stepping stone for me to be able to do what I want to do, to understand what I want to understand,” said Chef Tatung.
