Ameel Candy World, the leading wholesaler based in Roeselare specializing in confectionery, snacks, and beverages, commemorates its 25th anniversary with the construction of the world’s largest candy cake. This impressive creation contains a staggering 349,089 candies, marking a milestone in our history. In honor of this anniversary, we have organized a special edition of our +Event, where national and international suppliers showcase their range of products, allowing customers to not only take advantage of trade deals but also discover new and exclusive items. Our clientele is diverse, ranging from newsstands and gas stations to candy and chocolate shops and major retail chains. Twenty percent of our confectionery is exported to over 32 countries, including Europe, Kuwait, Lebanon, and the United States. Our export team is growing in significance, and our operations are becoming increasingly international.

This year, we are adding a special element by constructing a gigantic candy cake, aiming to claim the world record for the largest candy cake. We challenge other countries to break this record, but currently, Ameel Candy World proudly stands at the top as the record holder. As part of this project, we invited associations to help build the world’s largest candy cake. After a massive registration, we selected six associations based on motivation, location, and membership size, each with a construction team of 20 people, who worked together on Saturday, February 24, 2024, on this impressive project. The candy cake, with a diameter of 10 meters and a height of 8.65 meters, will be adorned with a whopping 349,089 candies.

For this project, we collaborated with various Belgian confectionery suppliers, including names such as Mr. Mallo, Frisia, Sugar Bakery Joris, and several local manufacturers. Additionally, we received international support from Rainbow Dust, the English manufacturer of edible food glue Tylo Powder, and Primus Ouwel, a Dutch manufacturer of edible paper.

On Sunday, February 25, during the first day of our fair, potential and existing customers of Ameel Candy World had the opportunity to be photographed in front of this impressive candy cake. At 5:30 PM, the cake was officially cut, in the presence of our founder Wilfried Ameel, owner Tom Ameel, purchasing director and initiator Filip Van Vyve, departing CEO Christ Suply, and the new CEO Lander Baesen. Journalists were present on the construction day on February 24, 2024, and at the official cutting ceremony on February 25. Also the important Belgian press & media were present.

After these festivities, the 12,000 building blocks of the cake were distributed for free among the 6 selected associations, which can then sell them to finance their activities. This initiative not only helps raise funds for the associations but also strengthens our ties with the community and contributes to our image as a company involved in social initiatives.
