The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) proudly announces the first-ever DTI Beauty Fair, set to take place from August 28 through September 1, 2024 at the SM Mega Fashion Hall, Ground Floor, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

Organized by the DTI through the Bureau of Market Development, Promotions, and OTOP (BMDPO) in coordination with the DTI Regional and Provincial Offices, the DTI Beauty Fair is poised to become a landmark event for the growing local beauty industry. This inaugural event is designed to promote and market the unique and innovative beauty products crafted by the 50 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from across the Philippines. It will provide a platform for MSMEs to showcase a wide array of locally made beauty products, including skincare, haircare, cosmetics, body care, handcrafted perfumes, and raw materials essential for beauty formulations.

Promoting Natural Beauty and Sustainability

The DTI Beauty Fair will emphasize the importance of self-care through the use of products made from natural and organic ingredients. Visitors will discover beauty products infused with locally sourced and sustainably harvested ingredients such as coconut, tea tree, oatmeal, and papaya extracts. These ingredients not only highlight the richness of the Philippines’ natural resources but also demonstrate the commitment of Filipino MSMEs to sustainable and ethical practices.

Interactive Experiences and Industry Networking

More than just a marketplace, the DTI Beauty Fair will offer an immersive experience for both buyers and general consumers. Attendees can look forward to product sampling, testing activities, and live makeup sessions, providing a hands-on opportunity to experience the effectiveness and unique qualities of the products on display.

The event will also serve as a networking hub for local beauty brands, offering opportunities to connect with potential customers, distributors, and industry peers. These objectives align with DTI’s mission to empower MSMEs by enhancing their market presence and fostering economic growth through better access to institutional buyers and the mainstream market.

What to Expect at the DTI Beauty Fair?

The Beauty Marketplace: The event will highlight MSMEs and their respective beauty brands through a specially designed marketplace featuring individual booths where exhibitors can display and sell their products, engage with customers, and promote their offerings to institutional buyers.

Make-up Try-on Lounge: Live makeup demonstrations and product sampling will be conducted by exhibitors, allowing visitors to experience the uniqueness and effectiveness of the beauty products first hand.

DTI Beauty Fair Photobooth: To make the event more memorable, a photobooth area with DTI Beauty Fair props will be set up, providing a special space for capturing fun experiences at the show, especially for self-care and beauty enthusiasts.

Social Media Marketing: In support of MSMEs, the bureau will assist exhibitors in promoting their products on digital platforms through a coordinated social media campaign. This effort aims to attract interest from a wider audience, including millennials and the general public.

“The DTI Beauty Fair represents our commitment to supporting the growth and development of MSMEs in the beauty industry,” said DTI Acting Secretary Cristina A. Roque. “We invite everyone to join us in celebrating the innovation and creativity of our local beauty entrepreneurs and to discover the best of what the Philippines has to offer.”

The DTI Beauty Fair is open to the public, and admission is free. For more information, follow the social media pages @BDTP on Facebook, @DTI_BDTP on X, and @dti.bdtp on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
